We are pleased to announce that the biennial European Meeting on Fire Retardant Polymeric Materials (FRPM19) will be held from 26th to 28th June 2019, with a conference reception taking place on Tuesday, 25th June, in Turku, Finland. The conference venue is the newly renovated Turku City Theatre, situated in the beautiful city center, alongside the Aura River.
During the conference, the participants will have the unique opportunity to visit Meyer shipyard during the evening of 26th June and to go onboard on one of the world´s largest cruise ships being built. They will be able to learn about Meyer´s views and actions for fire safety at sea. The ship is being finalized at the time of our visit.
The conference dinner will take place in the medieval Castle of Turku, located at the port of Turku. Our Renaissance-themed dinner will be hosted by historical persons.
The FRPM19 is not only a platform for academic exchange but it also captures the attention of numerous industries, chemical agencies and legislators that want to learn more about the latest trends and innovation developments related to flame retardants for all types of polymeric materials, chemical safety and regulations, fire modelling & simulations and recent advances in fire testing technology.
Some 10 world-leading scholars will give invited plenary talks, and 50 oral presentations will be shared by top experts within the global flame retardant community. In addition, approximately 100 posters representing the topic of improving fire safety of polymeric materials will be presented.
The prestigious journal of Polymer Degradation and Stability (IF 3.193) has agreed to publish a special issue devoted to selected papers presented in FRPM19 conference. The call for papers will be open after the conference and selected papers fulfilling the demand on the highest originality and quality rules of the journal will be published in 2020.
